We have had some great reviews from students and parents.

We keep on learning and improving.
We contacted Cheenta because our son, Sambuddha (a.k.a. Sam), seemed to have something of a gift in mathematical/logical thinking, and his school curriculum math was way too easy and boring for him. We were overjoyed when Mr. Ashani Dasgupta administered an admission test and accepted Sam as a one-to-one student at Cheenta. Ever since it has been an excellent experience and we have nothing but praise for Mr. Dasgupta. His enthusiasm for mathematics is infectious, and admirable is the amount of energy and thought he puts into each lesson. He covers a wide range of mathematical topics, and every lesson is packed with insights and methods. We are extremely pleased with the difference he has been making. Under his tutelage, Sam has secured several gold awards from the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) and Scottish Mathematical Council (SMC). Recently Sam received a book award from the UKMT and got invited to masterclass sessions also organised by the UKMT. Mr. Dasgupta’s tutoring was crucial for these achievements. We think Cheenta is rendering an excellent service to humanity by identifying young mathematical minds and nurturing them towards becoming inspired mathematicians of the future.

Our experience with Cheenta has been excellent. Even though my son started in Middle School, they understood his Math level and took personal interest in developing a long term plan considering his strengths and weakness areas. Through out the semester courses they have nourished him with challenging problems and necessary homework. His guidance has helped my son to perform well at competitions including USAJMO and others. He has grown more confident in his math abilities over the past year and half and is hoping to do well in the future. I am impressed with their quality and professionalism. We are very thankful to Cheenta and hope to benefit from them in the coming years. I would strongly recommend them to any student who wants to learn Math by doing challenging problems, specially if they are looking for Math than what their school can offer.

I have been enrolled in Cheenta since 2 years. The problem solving classes helped me a lot. They have a very structured program for ISI CMI as well as for olympiads. The one on one classes help you to clear your doubts. The most interesting thing about the conceptual classes is that concepts are taught through problems. If you want to prepare for any of these aforementioned exams then surely go for Cheenta.

The courses offered at Cheenta are really helpful for math olympiads and ISI-CMI entrances, and more importantly they motivate you to take up research. One on one classes are the best here, as you can utilise it as an opportunity to express yourself mathematically. Attending problem solving classes, gives you exposure to many problems, and about the regular homework problems, you try them on your own, and that's going to increase your confidence.

Team Cheenta has played the most pivotal role in the journey of Aryan ‘s Math Olympiad preparation. The structured program where every topic, Number Theory, Algebra, Geometry, Combinatorics was dealt with by the faculty members of Cheenta, benefitted Aryan immensely and kept the passion or fire burning in him to learn more and more intricate and complex concepts of his favourite subject, MATHEMATICS.

It's not that Aryan always had it easy going, especially when it came to the homework problems assigned by the teachers. In fact there were days when Aryan was really down, struggling to get the idea to prove and thus solve certain problems. But thinking and thinking really hard, keeping the problems at the back of your mind even when you are doing some other subjects, helped Aryan very well . The faculty members, Raghunath Sir and Sricharan Sir really guided, supported and encouraged him to give his best. We were really blessed to have a wonderful team of teachers at Cheenta who honed his geometry skills, a special mention of Aritro Sir and Saumik Sir, who guided him to give his best at IOQM, 2021-22. Team Cheenta ably captained by Ashani Sir and the helpful team.of administrators, is recommended by us for all mathematics olympiad aspirants.

Also Aryan was blessed to be a part of a batch which had the best of students, with their valuable contributions and innovative ideas.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and a great journey for Aryan at Cheenta. Deepest Gratitude to Team Cheenta.

Even before joining Cheenta, my son was dead set on his goal of learning mathematics. Instead of flailing about in the wilderness, I thought it would be better for both he and I to gain some guidance on how to achieve this goal. Cheenta was successful in doing that, along with much more. They provided an accessible yet almost all-encompassing course structure that made learning goals clear and easy to fulfil. Their teachers provided an educationally nourishing, firmly handled learning environment that still managed to include a familial love and care. I was quasi-regularly updated with in-depth assessments that guaranteed a peace of mind in this new world of which knew and still know little. These assessments included his understanding, the details of his weaknesses and application ability, which would help me understand when it was time move on to a higher level of their tiered course structure. Through special arrangements, he could also find coaches who gave him more time than provided by default, helping him combat his particular weaknesses. This made it so that he always had an optimal selection of study material, homework, and coaches. As he travelled through the system, he found much happiness in a newly found circle of friends who he could share his ideas and worries with, as he had met only a handful in person who could understand his personality. Above all else, he was provided with problems that could challenge and impact him profoundly, inciting an utter joy which I seldom see in him.

Now, back to my own experience in Cheenta.

I was a former Cheenta student and I quit because their quality is extremely bad, they don’t anything about Mathematics, but instead give you random Math problems and moreover, they don’t make any progress. The quality is so bad especially for some teachers, for example, the director of Cheenta and some other faculties, they’re not professional at all, they have a beautiful webpage and some Genius apps, however, their teaching quality is bad. On their webpage, you’ll feel like the have the perfect solution for math Olympiad, isi CMI entrance, however, once you enrol in their course for like some long time, you’ll ask yourself what have you learnt? And the answer is nothing.
as a former Cheenta student
i recommend you don’t enrol in Cheenta courses

Dear student,

This is from Cheenta Team.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience with us. Let us address some of the issues that you have raised:

The classes are indeed problem driven. The type of mathematics required for ISI-CMI Entrances need to be problem driven. The faculty who was teaching that batch ranked among the first 30 in India and himself studied at Indian Statistical Institute. There is no other way of succeeding in this extremely challenging contest. One has to go from problem to concepts. We hope you will see this as a teaching strategy.

There is a large tool box available for free.

Since we have about 500 students worldwide, customer service has been a challenge. If you did not receive satisfactory services then we do apologise for that. We have taken several measures to address this issue. For example we have a direct-to-admin service via personal Whatsapp group for each student where students can interact with our admin team all the time. Thank you for your comment. It definitely helps us to improve.

Finally, at Cheenta, we do want to work hard and deliver great mathematics to students like you. We will work even harder to fix any shortcomings that we may have. We wish you all the best.

Cheenta is not a good place to learn mathematics. Don't buy their classes. In a class, Some mentors (Their names were Swarnabja, Aritha Dey, and many more) comes and puts some random problems(who knows what type of problems) and goes away. Doing this for a Complete year and paying 32K Indian rupees per year. Instead one could buy 4-5 Aops Books which is the best. Even I went for Number theory and Geometry On-Demand Classes (Each of 15Classes, One-on-One), and some mentors came(One of them was Jayantha Saha), and gave some problems from Pre-college mathematics and Burton and went away.

So My mom told the mentor (Jayantha Saha) that they were not teaching anything and there is no improvement in me, and we are paying 24K(For both NT and Geo) for some useless problem-solving sessions. The mentor said,” Madam, RMO, and INMO are about only problems, and he knows everything.” After finishing these classes, I didn’t even know what was Brahmagupta’s formula, or Euler Line. Later I got to know that I was unable to solve at least an RMO problem.

Dear student,

This is from Cheenta Team.

We are sad to hear that you had a bad experience with some of our faculty members. Swarnabja and Aritra are some of the most loved faculty members at Cheenta. They indeed use problem to concept strategy for teaching olympiad grade mathematics. Whether in Russia or in United States, for Olympiad training this strategy is used everywhere.

We strongly suggest you focus on problem solving as well. In competitive mathematics, learning the theoretical part is completely useless without application in problem solving.

In fact now we added 5 more problem solving classes per week per course due to student requests.

We wish you all the best.
I am so angry about Cheenta. I participated in their self-paced course, and it costs USD 249 (which is 18968.94 rupees) and guess what? They only had 16 self-paced classes containing only Reading notes with 3 pages… it is not worth it, and their notes are in so low quality… their notes even provide any explanation but instead write a bunch of math notations and stuff that you can’t understand:

Ashani Dasgupta, and Srijit Mukherjee are just playing with the parent’s money…

they are not even trying an effort to explain any concept. How is a kid supposed to understand these lines?

It’s really disappointing indeed, like I paid for 18000 rupees for such a program with low quality — can’t believe many parents still fall for it!

Dear student,

This is from Cheenta Team.

The self-paced course has a demo section which the students use before subscribing.

Moreover it also includes weekly homework problems graded by humans, mock tests and doubt clearing support. Did you use all of these things? It seems that you are only pointing at some PDF files.
Ashani Dasgupta is just playing with the parent's hard-earned money. He keeps the fees very high more than double that what others are offering and that too better quality than cheenta and parents think that since they take so much money they would be good but they just suck. Recently I got to know that most of the students are not at all satisfied with the service they are providing. They have listed some of the students from ISI and CMI as their faculty but most of them do not teach on their platform and moreover, Ashani Dasgupta is hiring just anyone with some mathematics background and letting them teach in the class. Even 12 th passed dropouts who are still struggling to get into ISI or CMI are teaching. One of the student who was in their BMATH, BSTAT training program complained about the quality of teaching and two of the parents whose children are in the maths olympiad batch said that we don’t know what's happening at cheenta, someone comes and discusses three to four random problems and the classes goes on like this and the students are not making any progress.

Dear student,

This is from Cheenta Team. We are sorry to hear your experience was not good at Cheenta

In 2021 we had 9 successes ISI BStat-BMath and CMI Entrances. In 2022 we have 8 successes.

Problem to concept strategy is the only way to do well in such highly competitive spaces. Since students are trying to be in top 100 in the country, it is expected that they understand this strategy. We suggest that you may also use it to gain long term skills in mathematical science..
