Chemistry Olympiad Program

Chemistry Olympiad is the most challenging chemistry contest for school students. Brilliant school students from 75 countries participate in it every year.

Cheenta works with small groups of gifted students through an intense training program on the theoretical part of the contest. It is a deeply personalized journey toward intellectual prowess and technical sophistication.





Chemistry Olympiad curriculum comprises of four broad topics:

Physical Chemistry

Organic Chemistry


Inorganic Chemistry

The stress on biochemistry is more in the NSEC than in the typical school syllabi.

Levels, Schedule, and Eligibility

In India, there are 3 or 4 levels of chemistry olympiad. Students who are of age 14 years through 19 years may apply for NSEC. Students who are 13 to 14 years old may appear for Junior Science Olympiad.

National Standard Examination for Chemistry (NSEC)

an objective type screening test, usually conducted in November

Indian National Chemistry Olympiad

Top 1% from NSEC participate in INChO. It is held in January.

International Chemistry Olympiad Training Camp

in the month of May through June


Admission to Cheenta Chemistry Olympiad Program is highly selective. It consists of an online interview and a test.

Student of ninth grade onward may apply (advanced students of lower classes are also encouraged to apply).
