# Cheenta week of Nov. 12

Every week we have a festival of beautiful mathematics, brain-boggling problems, and ecstatic ideas. Find out what is coming up this week.
Hello mathematician!

Welcome to yet another week of mind boggling mathematical science.

We will start the week with a brief adventure into Polynomials. Personally I found the works of Burnside, Panton or Barbeau particularly useful. Your faculty will tell you his pick.

Later this week we explore ideas from Duality (one of the great underlying themes of mathematics). As the week progresses, we will pick up problems from Chinese Remain Theorem (Number Theory)  and Lagrange’s Theorem! These are powerful ideas which have far reaching consequences in elementary number theory as well as advanced Group Theory. My personal favorite are the books of Sierpinsky and Burton. Again the respective faculty members will have their own favorites.

Multivariable Calculus discussions will expose us notions of continuity and differentiability in higher dimension. There is a fantastic website called mathinsight which has some wonderful resources related to this.

Finally we will end the week by gluing points into Real Projective Line. This is the first geometric intuition of the notion of Equivalence Relation.
